I don’t like the idea of selling products I won’t use myself. I like to stand by what I say and what I am promoting. The more I have learned about Google over the years, the more I have come to love Google. Since we started using Google Apps for Business we have never looked back.
I like to keep up to date with my products and I like to use and hack tools that make my life easier. Hence, my love for Google Apps – specifically Google Apps for Business.
One of my businesses is Altitude Communications – we are an Optus Business Partner. Optus promotes and sells Google Apps and we have been using Google Apps since the beginning. Here’s a brief rundown of Google Apps before I start raving on like the fan boy that I am.
What is Google Apps for Business?
Google Apps for Business is cloud based – that is it’s hosted on someone else’s server. It consists of a number of tools covering email, productivity, organisation and communication solutions
Google Apps for Business allows you to backup and store files, emails and calendars in the cloud that can be accessed anytime, anywhere to be worked on in real-time by multiple users. All you need is an internet connection.
Google Apps for Business is fully managed and hosted in the cloud so you can avoid the usual costs and hassles of operating sophisticated software and enjoy access almost anywhere on any device with an Internet connection. We were debating whether we should upgrade our server but decided to go with Google Apps for business – in the long run this should end up saving us thousands of dollars.
The main suite of products includes Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sites and Google+. There are also 20+ other services your business can utilise depending on your needs and Google Apps can also be integrated with a number of other 3rd Party Apps and Solutions.
Reason Number 1 that I love Google Apps for Business – It’s a secure product that I trust.
There are many cloud solutions out there, some more reputable than others. Some cloud providers have pretty dodgy terms and conditions – they state that they own your data if it is hosted on their servers. This doesn’t happen with Google Apps for Business – they explicitly state that you maintain ownership of your data. Your work is also constantly backed up and you can access previous revisions.
Google Apps for Business uses strong encryption processes and the servers where they store your data are the same servers where they store their data.
Reason Number 2 that I love Google Apps for Business – It allows members of my staff to collaborate and work better together.
With Google Apps for Business our team can collaborate on documents, spreadsheets and presentations whilst on the road – it doesn’t matter where they are in the world. If they have an internet connection they can work together in real time and collaborate and discuss changes that suit their needs.
We can also easily share documents and presentations with clients if need be.
Reason Number 3 that I love Google Apps for Business – It has dramatically reduced our IT bill
Our IT bills have gone down dramatically because Google Apps for Business is so easy to use. It is easy to set up and add new users, the products are always up to date and there are no Server costs or software licences to manage. We also have access to 24/7 support when need be. This support is included in our small monthly licence cost so has dramatically reduced our IT bill
Reason Number 4 that I love Google Apps for Business – Our sales staff aren’t wasting time in the office.
Believe it or not, I don’t like it when our sales team are sitting at their desks. This means less time spent in front of clients and if they aren’t spending time in front of clients then they aren’t selling. Google Apps for Business means remote access to their email. docs and calendars when they need them and wherever they are.
